A charming Victorian diamond double heart brooch c.1890, formed of two matching open heart motifs entwined together, set throughout with old cut diamonds in silver cut down collets and backed with gold, to a single gold pin fitting. The Victorians loved sentimental jewellery and during the 19th century hearts were used to symbolise friendship, devotion and affection but most obviously romantic love. These two hearts are joined together and set with diamonds which symbolised everlasting love making this a wonderfully romantic jewel.
