Carved Oak Barometer
The barometer, of aneroid type, signed by the maker. and having a thermometer above is house within an extensively carved 'banjo' form case, incorporating fruits and foliates, with a bust of a hatted man from the Troubadour period. Inscribed on the silvered dial ‘Manufacturers to Her Majesty’s Government’ and by the maker ‘E Cetti of Brook Street, 11 & 31 Brook Street, Holborn, London’.

A Substantial 'Black Forest' Mantle Clock in the manner of Ed Binder of Brienz
Constructed in carved lindenwood, having a trapezoidal form naturalistically carved base; over, a deer and a fawn, standing on a rocky outcrop, are viewed by an eagle, with outstretched wings; the clock having an eight day movement, striking on a bell.

A French Onyx and Enamel Mantel Clock
Of rare circular form of cast gilt bronze and green onyx enclosed with four glass panes with champlevé enamel decoration in greens, blues, reds and whites with Arbaresque leaf scroll decoration; the porcelain clock face with Roman numerals and numbers with an eight day movement and the pendulum of mercury with enamel decoration and a clear stone; the whole rising on Corinthian columns and supported on bronze bun and disk enamelled feet, numbered 691.

A Garniture de Cheminee by Japy Freres et Cie
Constructed in two colour ormolu, comprising a richly decorated mantle clock and two candelabra in the late Louis XVI manner; the breakfront form clock rising from foliate adorned toupie feet, having a central panel depicting musical trophies, the enamel dial depicting hours in Roman numerals, and the five minute intervals shown in Arabic numerals; the two train eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell, behind which is the makers mark set in a circle; elongated pine cones flank the sides, and over, a lidded Grecian urn; the side pieces have shaped elliptical bases on which sit putti holding cymbals; over the central column issues four side, and one central candleholder, with a snuffer.

A Mantle Clock in the Louis XV Manner
Constructed in white Carrara marble and gilt bronze; the rectangular form base having bowed ends, rises from gilt toupie feet, and has opposed gilt sphinxes and gilt bronze foliate mounts to the facia; the two train clock, with an eight day movement, numbered ‘4522’on the backplate and marked ‘Made in France’, strikes the hours on a bell; the circular enamel face depicts the hours in Arabic numerals and is flanked by addorsed putti holding trumpets, with musical instruments at hand, including a tambourine, Pan pipes and a thyrsus; atop, a third putti wields cymbals.

A Large Black Forest Antique Mantle Clock
Constructed in carved linden wood, fitted with a two train 8 day striking clock; mounted on a shaped serpentine base, with a moulded edge, the naturalistic ground of rockwork, tree branches, leafage and berries incorporate two retrievers and the day’s bag; the huntsman, dressed for stalking, surveying the scene, surmounts the clock.

An Important French Mantle Clock in the Louis XVI Manner
Constructed in bronze, patinated and gilt; the rectangular form case supported on engraved oblate spherical feet, the frieze dressed with a row of female masks capping pillars, linked with ribbands, from designs by Percier & Fontaine; seated on a richly embroidered bolster, the classically draped female figure, emblematic of Victory, proffers a laurel wreath, with an anchor and the caduceus of Mercury alongside; the eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell, the 9 inch white enamel dial having the hours delineated in Roman numerals, and indicated with blued steel hands.

Ormolu Carriage Clock in the Louis XV Manner
The ornate and shaped gilt bronze case having putti at the angles, surmounted by two winged putti, one proffering a laurel wreath; dressed with hand painted dusky rose ‘Sevres’ hand painted panels framed within tied cannelures, and displaying disporting putti; the lever movement driving the clock for eight days, and striking the hours on a bell. The back plate bears a serial number, 44442.

French Mantle Clock of the Charles X Period
Constructed in palisander, foliate and line inlaid in boxwood; rectangular form case, surmounted by a gilt bronze carrying handle, houses a circular faced eight day clock with subsidiary dials for the day / date features, striking the hours on a bell, the engraved steel chapter ring delineating the hours in Roman numerals; the rear inspection door permits access to the winding and adjustment mechanism.

French Ormolu & Enamel Clock Garniture Retailed by Theodore Starr and Co, New York
Constructed in gilt bronze, and decorated with champlevé enamel; the candelabras have toupie feet supporting the shaped circular bases, on which winged cherubs hold two armed candle arms aloft; the shaped elliptical form clock has conforming feet, with two cherubs supporting the circular case, capped with an acorn finial and a pair of flambeaux; the chapter ring in bronze, with the hours delineated in Roman numerals, the two train, 8 day movement striking the hours on a bell, and bearing the retailers Theodore B Starr of New York details.

French Ormolu and Marble Mantle Clock by Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co
Constructed in Carrara marble adorned with fine ormolu highlights; rising from gilt bronze toupie feet, the marble case having ‘D’ form ends, adorned with foliate entrelacs, with a central ormolu panel depicting disporting putti and over, the circular enamel dial hand painted in polychromes with garlands, and the hours painted in Arabic numerals, signed by the retailers, The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company of 112 Regent Street London W., with an eight day movement, the hours striking on a bell, stamped by Vincenti & Cie, and R&C, for Richard and Company, numbered 4369: the case is surmounted by Cupid, his bow and quiver at hand, holding a lighted torch, emblematic of passion, a theme echoed by a scantily clad young beauty in a provocative pose.

A Good French Mantle Clock in the Chinoiserie Taste.
Constructed in gilt bronze; the shaped case having oriental form scroll feet and decorated with foliates, and surmounted with a figure of a Chinese lady of quality in traditional robes holding a ‘jewelled’ mirror; the circular steel dial of the clock having Roman incised numerals, and housing an eight day silk suspension movement, with the hours striking on a bell.

Good French Mantle Clock Garniture By Charles Oudin, Paris
The garniture comprising a clock and two candelabras, constructed in gilt bronze and ‘Sèvres’ Bleu Celeste porcelain hand decorated in polychromes with giltwork highlights; the candelabra rising from toupie feet supporting square bases, cast with Vitruvian scrolls, with stiff leaf foliate bowls holding ovoid bodies incorporating elliptical cartouches with coastal scenes, having side handles and capped with knops, issuing five candle branches of ‘s’ form; the ormolu clock having conforming feet, with fluted columnar sides, housing a shaped porcelain panel, hand decorated, and over, a putto decorated circular clock dial with Roman numerals marking the hours, and the maker’s name, Oudin with a ‘Depose’ (registered) mark; the eight day silk suspension movement having an hour striking train, on a bell.

A Mantlepiece Clock in the Louis XVI Manner Retailed by E & S Watson of London.
Constructed in a fine quality two tone ormolu case, and adorned with rose ground ‘Sèvres’ style panels to both front and sides, depicting; rising from oblate toupie feet, the domed case is of modest breakfront form, with a flambeaux urn atop, having tea rose garlands conjoining the body; the clock face delineates the hours in Roman numerals in white cartouches, and is driven by an eight day movement, striking on a bell, with the backplate having the retailer’s stamp, ‘E & S Watson, London’, within an ellipse.

A Very Fine “Exhibition” Long Case Clock Chiming on Nine Tubes
Constructed in mahogany; the exuberantly carved case supported on ogee bracket feet flanking an apron, the base panel having foliate marquetry inlays; over, the glass fronted lockable inspection door, displaying the weights, tubes and pendulum is adorned with complex stylised lattice and tracery work, with carved spandrels to the canted sides; the serpentine hood houses an engraved brass faced arched dial, with hours delineated in Roman numerals, with a subsidiary dial displaying the seconds; over, two more subsidiary dials show quarter hour and hourly striking for the Westminster and Whittington chimes; conformingly carved spandrels to the sides, with a shaped and carved cornice.

Constructed in the Louis XVth Manner, the monumental gilt bronze framework housing hand painted porcelain plaques of nautical scenes, signed ‘Venoit; rising from scrolled feet, the exuberantly shaped case decorated with masks and putti; the circular enamel dial displaying the hours in Roman numerals, and the minutes in Arabic numerals; the two train 8 day silk suspension movement striking on a bell. Signed by the maker, LeCat, Paris.
