Their fixed fee offering for debt recovery only applies to a claim in relation to a debt that arises as a result of an undisputed, unpaid invoice, where enforcement action is not required. The costs of such an action would be as follows:

• Debt Value up to £10,000 – Fixed Fee of £1000 + VAT and Disbursements – (This does not include the cost of issuing proceedings or taking enforcement action if required)

• Debt Value over £10,000 – Fixed Fee of 5% of the value of the claim + VAT and Disbursements. (This does not include the cost of issuing proceedings or taking enforcement action if required)

The fees displayed above include them taking your instructions, reviewing all documents relevant to the matter, investigation of the matter, complying with the pre-action protocol and sending a letter before action and sending payment to you if received by us within 14 days of sending the relevant letter before action.

On average these matters can take longer and can be anywhere between 6 and 18 weeks.

If payment is not received in this time frame, then they will discuss the next steps with you and the costs that are likely to be incurred in taking those steps.

If matters need to be taken further, our hourly rate for dealing with these matters is £300 per hour plus VAT.

It is impossible to estimate how long a matter that requires the issue of proceeding at court will take, they will give you an estimate at the outset once they know your circumstances and they will keep you updated on the costs and likely payments that you will need to make throughout the matter. They will also consult with you if any unforeseen payments need to be made and they will obtain your consent before these are incurred by them on your behalf.
