ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE S SHADOW EDITION
The Rapide S offers flawless performance with the powerful response of a thoroughbred. And now, out of the shadows, there is a new special edition of this supercar. Featuring enhanced vehicle dynamics, the Rapide S Shadow Edition provides a more engaging driving experience with a moody style. Featuring uprated power of 565bhp, an eight-speed Touchtronic III Transmission, Sports Exhaust and 3-stage Adaptive Damping, this thrilling edition is made for enthusiasts who desire a truly absorbing drive. Powered by a new, retuned 6.0-litre V12 engine, the Rapide S delivers 558PS of power and 620Nm of torque. The interior of the Shadow Edition continues Aston Martin’s tradition of luxurious appointment. The cabin is lavished in swathes of supple leather, available in Dark Knight and Sahara Tan finishes, echoing the penumbra exterior. At the heart of the Rapide S Shadow Edition is a new AMi III infotainment system, designed into a stunning new fascia. Less than two years after being unveiled as a concept, the RapidE spearheads Aston Martin’s low-emission strategy at lightning pace. The all-electric powertrain replaces the traditional 6-litre V12 to deliver a driving experience unique from any other Aston Martin. The luxury four-door coupé is a historic first step towards a significant milestone in the brand’s manufacturing heritage. DESIGN
The RapidE takes inspiration from the newly unveiled Rapide S model. Its sweeping lines and single-louvre grille blend iconic Aston Martin styling with lightning blue trim, highlighting the car’s status as an electric model. The gaping air intakes and a prominent diffuser are taken from Aston Martin’s considerable success in international GT racing. Partnering this with Williams F1 advance engineering and the high-torque electric powertrain ensures the RapidE delivers exciting results.
PERFORMANCE
Aston Martin has embraced radical change to develop a new breed of car. The values of seductive style and supreme performance don’t just co-exist with the new electric design: they are optimised by it. With engineering developed in conjunction with the highly-experienced Williams F1 team, an emission-free electric motor will deliver white-knuckle acceleration to all four wheels. TECHNOLOGY
Williams F1 has kept cards close to its chest so far, however the engineers will draw on their extensive battery experience to deliver range of up to 200 miles. The concept also boasted a face-stretching 1,000hp: however this won’t be confirmed until the RapidE is unveiled.
