1963 Stainless Steel Speedmaster Wristwatch by OMEGA
1963 Stainless steel Speedmaster Ref: 105.002 wristwatch by OMEGA
The black dial features baton hour indices, baton hands with central chronograph seconds, outer minute track with strokes to 1/5th of a second, subsidiary seconds at 9 o’clock, 30 minute register at 3 o’clock, 12 hour register at 6 o’clock and 'Dot Over 90' tachymetric scale bezel in good condition.
In 1962 this reference had a change in naming convention from 2998-62 to the new reference number system making it Ref: 105.002. This example was made during the end of its short, 6 month production run as demonstrated by its inclusion of baton hands rather than the earlier steel alpha hands seen on the 2998. The dial does not feature 'T' marks denoting tritium and was the last reference to carry the silver rehaut.

Omega
In 1848 a young watchmaker named Louis Brandt opened a small workshop in the small Swiss village of La Chaux-de-Fonds. It was here, in the family villa, that the 23-year-old Brandt began the company that was to become Omega. Brandt was passionate about precision and he set about developing the most accurate watches he could. Within a few years his reputation for high quality watches was established witin Switzerland, and then shortly after, throughout Europe.
“From OMEGA’s beginnings, our timepieces have recorded some of the most significant moments in the world (and beyond). They have been worn by presidents and kings, astronauts and spies, movie stars and you. Behind each one is a legacy of horological quality and innovation.”
