Omega Seamaster

Made famous for its reliability, the OMEGA Seamaster has worldwide acclaim stemming back to its origins where it serviced armed forces in Britain.

Naturally, the military were looking for wristwatches that were robust and could handle exacting conditions, all while being discreet and easy to read. Its success with servicemen prompted the company to produce a line for the general public in 1947.

A wristwatch with a defined, solid structure and functional appearance – all while still being very much a timepiece to be worn by a gentleman has granted the Seamaster and its subsequent sub-lines enduring worldwide popularity.

The Chronostop model, released in 1966, was intended as a more youthful style with a simplified ‘press and release’ chronograph function where the start, stop and reset are all controlled using one button.

Still part of the Chronostop line but with dual button chronograph, the Rallye was released in 1969. It was nicknamed the ‘Bull Head’ in English speaking countries due to its distinctive trapezoidal case shape. This model has been reissued by OMEGA recently and is also the wristwatch of the 2016 Olympic Games in ‎Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
