Andrew Grima
Andrew Grima was known for his cutting edge jewellery art forms that merged modernist expression with natural forms and textures. By the time of his collaboration with OMEGA in 1969, he had an impressive number of award including twelve Diamonds International Awards and, had been the official supplier of jewellery to the English Royal Family since 1966.
Therefore, Grima was the perfect choice to create for OMEGA a collection of highly avant garde watches developing the idea of seeing time through gemstones. This collection was known as ‘About Time’ and was launched at the Goldsmith’s Hall, London from the 5th to the 7th of May, 1970. It would be one of the most extraordinary exhibitions of jewellery timepieces, crowned on its final day by a visit from Princess Anne.
