INTRODUCTION
What’s in a name? When it comes to the new Aston Martin DB11 V8, quite a lot. Especially the ‘V8’ part. New to Aston Martin, a 4-litre V8 Twin Turbo unit means the DB11 can generate a formidable 503bhp, powering it from zero to 62mph in just 4 seconds – almost matching the performance of its V12 sibling. The DB11 V8 is a lighter car than its V12 sibling and therefore benefits from agile handling and tremendously high performance, with improved efficiency. And, as you can see, its superbly sporty yet coolly stylish looks are pure Aston Martin. DESIGN
This is an Aston Martin, so naturally the styling and body are major considerations. And the new Aston Martin DB11 V8 gets a new design to distinguish its exceptional traits. New wheel finishes, headlamp bezels and bonnet mesh are unique to the V8, along with new trim inlays, script badges and a choice of three designer specifications shared with the DB11 V12.
PERFORMANCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Set extremely low and far back in the chassis, the engine positioning is crucial to the dynamic performance of the new DB11 V8. This has been achieved through new bespoke engine mounts and a lower, slimmer wet sump, which work together to give greater sporting performance with improved efficiency and economy. It’s a key engineering factor that gives the DB11 V8 greater hold and stability on the road, improves weight distribution and enhances its driving dynamics, allowing it to deploy more of its formidable performance, more of the time. The DB11 V8 serves up 503bhp, which offers a 0 to 62mph time of just four seconds and will allow the car to carry on accelerating up to a blistering top speed of 187mph.But that’s not all, of course. The 4-litre V8 unit integrates a high performance exhaust system, ECU, engine and throttle mapping software, a bespoke wet sump and air intakes that give improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Together, these factors combine to deliver the iconic Aston Martin racing experience you know and love, with the reassurance of a smart and clean drive.
SAFETY
Relaxation, security and safety are vital to every Aston Martin, and none more so than the V8, which comes with plenty of features to keep you safe on the road.. New to the DB11 V8 is Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), an invaluable technology that helps you sense if a vehicle is anywhere to either side of your car while you’re driving, extending rearwards from the side mirrors – your potential blind spots. If BSM senses a vehicle, it will only alert you if it’s overtaking, or in your blind spot, while a secondary warning system warns you if a vehicle is in or entering your blind spot during a lane change. It’s this kind of smart technology built into the Aston Martin DB11 V8 that can potentially guard against incidents, and a true example of the car’s enhanced driving experience.

THE FINAL MEMBER OF THE DB11 FAMILY
Introducing the final member of the DB11 family; the Volante. Maintaining the sleek aggressive look of its coupé equivalent the Volante is sure to turn heads, as it glides around corners with an accompanying V8 growl that will shake the gravel from the road. There’s cause to celebrate the genius that is Aston Martin, as they effortlessly manage to embody the coupé design into a cabriolet, retaining prowess with the top up or down.
PERFORMANCE
For car admirers the ability to drop the top in 14 seconds with speeds up to 31mph makes for an exhilarating experience, and with the top down the driver is transported to a concert of glorious V8 harmonics. The DB11 Volante is the perfect choice for speed and comfort enthusiasts alike. With a 4.0- litre, twin-turbo, V-8 engine it’s no surprise the Volante effortlessly makes the 0-62mph dash in 4.1secs, with the longer 0-100mph complete within a rapid 8.8secs and a top speed of 187mph. The Volante offers not only superb performance but the ability to transform seamlessly into a comfortable cruiser when required making the Volante ideal for taking the family on tour.
DESIGN
Aston Martin has a reputation for sophistication as ‘the car fit for a secret agent’; and the DB11 Volante is no exception. The Volante shares the same characteristics as its metal-topped counterpart with its stunning front end and single-piece grill and headlights adjourned with a slender LED strip. By losing the hard-top roof the strong muscular lines are exaggerated, so much so, that you can’t help but appreciate the graceful yet powerful silhouette.
Drivers become one with the open air within the cockpit of the Volante with a choice of wood or carbon-fibre seat backs finished with a unique stitching layout that exudes luxury. To ensure comfort with the top-down no matter the weather Aston Martin has fitted the Volante with a heated steering wheel and two grooves at 2-and 10-O’clock to provide that extra support whilst gripping the steering wheel correctly.
SAFETY
Aston Martin has optimised the Volante’s centre of gravity and included special suspension vibration isolators, springs, dampers, anti-roll bars and an electronic stability programme, that provides software to advance the car’s overall agility. This ensures the Volante provides the speed and dexterity to grip the road around corners creating a thrilling ride!
