ICONIC NAME REVIVED FOR ASTON MARTIN’S FIRST MID-ENGINED SERIES PRODUCTION SUPERCAR
DESIGN
Weight, packaging and aerodynamic efficiency inform every aspect of the design and engineering. The exterior boasts clean, Valkyrie-inspired lines, but it’s still extreme in terms of visual gestures; this can be seen in the distinctive clamshell front bumper, with openings which allow you to see through onto the performance tyre.
The exterior design suggests a toned down racing car aesthetic, with hints of Aston Martin’s more traditional and sophisticated design. Typical mid-engine components such as the ground-hugging grille and splitter remain, but the open bodywork and tail make way for more familiar Aston Martin design shapes such as a traditional ducktail rear spoiler.
TECHNOLOGY
The model will feature a twin-turbocharged version of Aston Martin’s new V6 engine, which is set to be manufactured in the UK. As opposed to the carbon-fibre tubs used by its competitors and the Valkyrie, the supercar features a bespoke bonded aluminium chassis, developed under the guidance of mid-engined specialist and Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, Max Szwaj.
As established automotive world leaders in bonded aluminium structures, Aston Martin is perfectly placed to demonstrate the cost, speed of production and weight vs strength advantages of this technology.
PERFORMANCE
While power and capacity aren’t yet confirmed, looking at competitor stats suggest around 700 horsepower. This new mid-engined supercar will be comfortable both on the road and while chasing lap times around the track.
